Matt Block is a trumpet player, songwriter and music industry professional based in NYC. Originally from Philadelphia, Matt's grandfather introduced him to the trumpet and jazz when he was just three years old, sparking his initial passion for music. Professionally, Matt's career began in synch licensing and music supervision where he served as the Director of Music Licensing for Flavorlab, a leading audio post production company. Currently he serves as the Head of Music Production at Splice, the industry's highest quality and largest royalty-free sample library and is the co-founder of la reserve records, the largest independent jazz label in North America. The album, a collaboration with his grandfather, Morton Block, was a multi generational saga about love and heartbreak spanning 60 years.
